| I am so pleased that Martha Pullen featured our event in her newsletter. Here is what she said: Love you Pittsburgh! Love you! Love you! What warm and wonderful ladies we had in our fabulous Love of Heirloom Retreat in Pittsburgh last week! Underwritten by Baby Lock and Gloria Horn Sewing Studios, the ladies were wonderful students-absolutely wonderful. Thank you to Gloria Horn and her incredible staff and our teachers, Kathy McMakin, Debi Kuennen-Baker, Missy Billingsley, Pam Mahshie and Melanie Coakley. It was Pam Mashie's birthday as well as one of our students so we had a big happy birthday lunch song. We sang, danced, sewed, serged, lace shaped and laughed and laughed and laughed some more. I loved teaching my lace shaping class (on a cardboard box of course) to over eighty ladies at one time and they all got it! We had a seminar on "How to Earn Money with Your Sewing" as well as a hanger fashion show with many of my antique garments being passed around. We had to sing "Yeah Alabama" since Joe Namath, who played for Alabama when I was a cheerleader there, is from Pennsylvania! As we danced to "Sweet Home Alabama" I invited all of these ladies to come to Alabama for their next sewing adventure! We can't wait. Several are signed up to come to the School of Art Fashion and some teacher licensings. You all get A Plus for all of your classes of course! I loved knowing that about half of these ladies did not even get my newsletter so welcome to all of our new newsletter subscribers! I will never forget the wonderful time we had at the beautiful Rivers Casino - North Shore (we were upstairs) with the most gorgeous views out of all of the teaching rooms. We could also see the Pittsburgh Steelers football stadium and the Pittsburgh Pirates stadium out of our windows. Wow, what excitement. Thank you Pittsburgh for the trip of a lifetime. Your hospitality was beautiful. May God Bless You, Martha Martha, we love you, too!! Come back soon! |
